Guidelines for Illnesses

The health and safety of our children, families, and staff are a top priority. Parents are notified through Brightwheel regarding illnesses or symptoms that occur during the school day. If a child needs to be sent home due to illness, families will first receive a Brightwheel notification followed by a phone call.

Families are also informed about common illnesses or classroom exposures through Brightwheel updates and our weekly newsletter. Additional health and wellness information is shared on the parent bulletin board to help families stay informed throughout the year.

We follow the recommendations provided by the Washtenaw County Health Department regarding when children should stay home or be sent home from school due to illness. Families can also review our parent handbook for updated policies and health procedures.
