At Play & Learn Children’s Place, children are encouraged to explore, discover, and grow through hands-on experiences with the world around them. We believe learning through play helps children build curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong love for learning.
For us, learning goes beyond the classroom. It happens during everyday moments, outdoor adventures, creative activities, and meaningful interactions. By giving children the freedom to ask questions, experiment, and explore, we help them develop the skills they need for every stage of life.
Our vision is to provide children and families with a high-quality early childhood education experience in a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment.
We are committed to building strong partnerships between teachers and families while using research-based teaching practices that support every child’s growth and development. Our mission is to create a caring community where children feel safe, valued, and inspired to learn through meaningful connections with educators, families, and one another.
Play & Learn Children’s Place proudly provides quality childcare and early learning experiences for families throughout Washtenaw County. Following the HighScope curriculum along with state and federal standards, we create engaging learning environments where children can develop socially, emotionally, cognitively, and physically through play-based education.
Our classrooms are thoughtfully designed with age-appropriate learning areas that encourage imagination, creativity, exploration, and independent discovery. From block play and dramatic play to art, sensory exploration, and hands-on learning activities, every space is created to support child development in meaningful ways.
We incorporate natural materials, real-world objects, sensory experiences, and culturally diverse resources to provide children with a well-rounded and inclusive learning environment. Through observation-based assessments, our teachers carefully support each child’s developmental journey from infancy through preschool.
By following child-led learning experiences, children actively participate in daily routines and activities that strengthen important life skills, including social-emotional growth, critical thinking, communication, and motor development.
With small class sizes and continuity of care, we focus on building secure relationships between teachers, children, and families — creating a supportive community where every child feels seen, encouraged, and confident to learn.
We’d love to connect with your family and answer any questions about enrollment, programs, or scheduling a tour. Reach out today to learn more about how Play & Learn Children’s Place can support your child’s early learning journey.
